Starting as a bedding plant business in 1975, Greenleaf's roots run deep. Armed with an idea from a craft show, Greenleaf's founders entered the home fragrance market with the original envelope scented sachet. For 50 years now, Greenleaf Gifts has passionately pursued creating high-quality, design-focused home fragrance products with a purpose.

Restavek Freedom is a non-profit dedicated to ending child slavery in Haiti. “Restavek” is a Haitian term referring to an exploited child abused for labor.

Venture specifically works to address the problem of human trafficking, refugee crisis, extreme poverty, and religious and gender-based persecution. Through a network of local leaders, Venture provides rescue and safety, health and hygiene, education, agribusiness, and food security.

Founded in 2012, SWITCH is a grassroots organization leading a movement to end human sex trafficking and sexual exploitation in the Upstate of South Carolina.

Humble Beginnings

It all started in 1975, when our founders took the leap and started a greenhouse in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Looking for ways to grow beyond their seasonal business, they discovered a passion for creating quality products with a purpose.

In the Kitchen

Using Sylvia's harvest gold Sunbeam Mixmaster, they developed the first scented envelope sachet. This launched Greenleaf into the world of home fragrance.

Our Family Today

After all these years, we remain family-owned and have third generation family members working in the business. Our commitment to quality fragrances, reasonable prices, and exceptional customer service remains unchanged since the beginning in 1975.

From Greenhouse to Your House
In 1975, our founders Bob and Sylvia Caldwell were running a seasonal greenhouse business in South Carolina. Seeking a way to create stability year-round, they tried something new: handcrafting scented envelope sachets right at home using Sylvia’s harvest gold Sunbeam mixmaster. That first sachet sparked more than a product. It sparked a legacy.

A Family Tradition
Fifty years later, Greenleaf is still family-owned and proudly operated by second and third generations. The values that shaped our start still guide us today—creating with care, giving generously, and always putting heart into everything we do. Our team is part of that family too.
