About Greenleaf Gifts

EST. 1975

Starting as a bedding plant business in 1975, Greenleaf's roots run deep. Armed with an idea from a craft show, Greenleaf's founders entered the home fragrance market with the original envelope scented sachet. For 50 years now, Greenleaf Gifts has passionately pursued creating high-quality, design-focused home fragrance products with a purpose.

Available in a wide assortment of candles, room sprays, flower diffusers and more, we offer over 20 fragrances with hand-painted patterns.

Our Story

Rooted in South Carolina and family-owned since 1975, we’re inspired by Southern grace, timeless florals, and the beauty of everyday giving.

Humble Beginnings

It all started in 1975, when our founders took the leap and started a greenhouse in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Looking for ways to grow beyond their seasonal business, they discovered a passion for creating quality products with a purpose.

In the Kitchen

Using Sylvia's harvest gold Sunbeam Mixmaster, they developed the first scented envelope sachet. This launched Greenleaf into the world of home fragrance.

Our Family Today

After all these years, we remain family-owned and have third generation family members working in the business. Our commitment to quality fragrances, reasonable prices, and exceptional customer service remains unchanged since the beginning in 1975.

Celebrating 50 Years of Home Fragrance: The Greenleaf Story

What began in a Spartanburg kitchen with a harvest gold Sunbeam Mixmaster has grown into something truly special. For five decades, we've been filling homes with beautiful fragrance and heartfelt purpose. As we celebrate Greenleaf’s 50th anniversary in 2025, we’re reflecting on the journey that brought us here and looking ahead with joy and gratitude.

From Greenhouse to Your House
In 1975, our founders Bob and Sylvia Caldwell were running a seasonal greenhouse business in South Carolina. Seeking a way to create stability year-round, they tried something new: handcrafting scented envelope sachets right at home using Sylvia’s harvest gold Sunbeam mixmaster. That first sachet sparked more than a product. It sparked a legacy.

A Family Tradition
Fifty years later, Greenleaf is still family-owned and proudly operated by second and third generations. The values that shaped our start still guide us today—creating with care, giving generously, and always putting heart into everything we do. Our team is part of that family too. The passionate hands and hearts behind every candle, sachet, and diffuser are the reason our products feel so special and why they’re welcomed into homes across the country.

Scents That Tell a Story
From the cozy embrace of Cashmere Kiss to the clean calm of Classic Linen and the joyful glow of Orange & Honey, every Greenleaf fragrance is designed to make a space feel like home. Holiday scents like Merry Memories and Silver Spruce bring warmth to seasonal traditions year after year.

Giving Back Through Greenleaf Cares
We believe fragrance can do more than make life smell better. It can help make the world better too. That’s why 3% of every Greenleaf purchase supports organizations working to end human trafficking. When you shop with us, you’re part of that mission.

The Story Continues
We’re endlessly thankful for the customers, partners, and team members who’ve made this journey possible. And as we look to the next 50 years, we’re more inspired than ever to keep creating products that uplift, comfort, and bring beauty into everyday life.
